In Conversation: Mario Moore and Taylor Renee Aldridge

March 23, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

$18

On the occasion of Mario Moore’s solo exhibition, Enshrined: Presence + Preservation, the largest survey show of his works to date, Mario Moore and the exhibition curator, Taylor Renee Aldridge will be in dialogue around the exhibition.

Bringing together several dozen works from his early career—including paintings from his most recent body of work, The Work of Several Lifetimes (2019), created with the support of Princeton University’s esteemed Hodder Fellowship—Enshrined: Presence + Preservation is Mario Moore’s first solo exhibition at the California African American Museum.

In this dialogue, the curator and artist will talk about themes of preservation, Moore’s vigilance in documenting essential workers, and his long-term interest in depicting rest and work.
