ABOUT US

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) patrols Exposition Park and buildings within the Park. All DPS officers are authorized under the California Penal Code section 830.7 and have peace officer powers of arrest while on duty.

DPS’s goal is to provide timely and appropriate responses to safety problems and needs within the Park. DPS provides a full range of related services, such as: emergency response; preventative patrol; initial investigation of observed, reported, or suspected crimes; enforcement of laws; special event security; parking enforcement; and limited escort duties at the Park.

DISPATCH

The Department of Public Safety has a communications office (Dispatch) that is staffed by Dispatchers (communications operators) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Dispatchers are the main line of communications between officers, supervisors, allied emergency response personnel (CHP, LAFD, LAPD), and all entities within Exposition Park. Officers are dispatched to incidents and calls for service from the communications office. Dispatchers also answer telephone inquiries and provide information to the general public, allied law enforcement agencies, and to Exposition Park entities.

All traffic laws are enforced on Exposition Park property.

THE SPEED LIMIT ON STATE  STREETS INSIDE EXPOSITION PARK IS 15 MILES PER HOUR.

STATE DRIVE AND KINSEY DRIVE ARE CLOSED TO GENERAL VEHICULAR TRAFFIC. AUTHORIZED VEHICLES OPERATING ON STATE DRIVE AND KINSEY DRIVE SHOULD KEEP THEIR SPEED TO 5 MILES PER HOUR.

THE SPEED LIMIT IN ALL PARKING STRUCTURES AND LOTS IS 10 MILES PER HOUR.

Violators may be subject to citation or arrest as authorized by law. Traffic citations are typically adjudicated through the Los Angeles Superior Court, Metropolitan Branch Court Traffic Division:
