Black Female Representations in Popular Media
Caroline A. Streeter, Associate Professor of English and African
American Studies at UCLA, will present a lecture that examines media
representation of black female celebrities in the context of global
performance and popular culture, including Oprah and Diahann Carroll,
who appear in Derrick Adams’s Color Bar Constellationseries.
