February 18, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
This February 18, join us as we dive into marine science! Youth ages 8–18 are invited to participate in hands-on STEM workshops, with real scientists from the Museum’s Marine Biodiversity Center (advanced registration required). Guests of all ages can enjoy a Museum scavenger hunt and fun drop-in activities in our STEMinist Lounge. Plus, explore the DEEPSEA CHALLENGER submersible, in the exhibition PRESSURE: James Cameron into the Abyss in its final days at NHM!
- STEMinist Lounge: Stop by the STEMinist Lounge to meet museum scientists and see specimens from behind the scenes; learn about ocean-related opportunities for youth and girls around the city; pick up a museum scavenger hunt, visit our photo booth, and more! Open to all Museum guests; no advanced registration required.
- Hands-on STEM Workshop: How do we learn about life in the ocean? Youth age 8-18 are invited to join hands-on workshops with Museum educators and real scientists from the NHM’s Marine Biodiversity Center. Participants will have the opportunity to work with real marine specimens from local coastal environments—to understand how Museum scientists are working to learn about the amazing diversity of life in our oceans!
